Hi,
My drivers door is making a horrible sound when opening a closing and i have deduced that the checkstrap is broken within the door.
my question is on finding a replacement. Are they the same for all the range or specific for the model and will a rear door checkstrap fit the front?
i've seen one but its for the rear.
thanks in advance,

Afternoon,

The door check straps are not handed so can be used in both the drivers or passengers door. Unfortunately they cannot be swapped from front to back/back to front as they are a different size and arrangement.

Finding a used replacement might well end with the same failure in time so the very best thing to have fitted is a refurbished item from Paul @depronman. Many of us have these fitted with complete satisfaction. Drop him a PM where he will let you know the costs involved which are in fact very reasonable.

Failure to rectify this issue can result in damaged speaker housing and worse.

Edit: Just noticed reposted at the same time Steve @Catnip64, apologies.

Kind regards,

Tom

Just catching up on this
You will see a couple of members have already recommended you fit one of my refurbished check straps
There are two main failure points on the check strap one is the plastic rollers wear badly and the other is the pop rivets which fasten the check strap parts together fail
My refurbished units have brass rollers fitted in place of the plastic rollers and stainless steel nuts and bolts instead of the pop rivets
They are a far superior product to the original
£25 per strap
£4.40 postage (I can send a pair for this price)
£20 per strap deposit which is returned when I get your old strap back

I have stock of refurbished ones so if you want one or two (a lot of people change both front straps at the same time) then drop me a pm

Cheers. Paul

Hi Paul,
Do you have a pair of check straps? My offside one needs replacing and I shall do both sides at the same time.
Total price delivered please to IP11 2UG.
Thanks, Richie.
