Chewing Gum!

My wife has unfortunately trodden some cheqing gum into the floor mat. Anyone have any ideas as to how to get it off?

You can get a spray that freezes the stuff. The gum then becomes brittle and you can use a brush or a sharp thing to remove it.

You could even remove the carpet and put it in the freezer for a day. The gum freezes and it should come off.

BTW, this is why I never allow eating in the car.

Thanks Dennis...I was chatting with my Dad after I posted this topic and he came up with the same suggestion. So right now my floor mat is in the freezer!! I'll take it out in a while and see if I can scrape the gum off!

Believe me if I could have avoided this I would have done and I'm sure my wife would have done after I had a go at her for treading it into the car...but it's one of those things that really is hard to avoid once in a blue moon - such as treading in dog ****!

Yep, I've used the spray in the A4 a few years back, worked a treat.
