I have just bought a new handbrake cover for my car. Unfortunately, I cannot remove the cigarette lighter socket from the existing handbrake cover. I have cut the narrow plastic ring at the top, but now the socket is loose, I cannot get it out of the hole in the plastic. It seems to me that the cigarette lighter is in two pieces as it would be impossible to get it in or out of the handbrake cover. After much swearing and grazed fingers, it will not come apart. Has anyone any idea of how to remove this item or have any experience on fitting one. It would be greatly appreciated!!
