Clutch

Clutch has gone in our newly acquired 1.4 petrolA friend of mine who is a semiretired mechanic will replace it for us( he replaced one in our Audi 1.4tdi).Is there a particular make that would be the best to use?looking on eBay there is a wide variety of makes and prices!

Evening Rob,

I had to replace the clutch in my Petrol (BBY) A2 a few years ago. After asking the same question as you back then, the answers I got was go for a LUK Clutch.

Thats all I recall about it as the garage offered me a LUK along with other alternatives. Back then the prices were all pretty similar. The replacement LUK Clutch was, of course great and worked as it should have done.

Luk, sachs, valeo are all great makes so i would get the best priced one of those, borg and beck used to be good but not sure either these days looking at reviews?
