Something terrible has happened... [:I][:I]
We were driving up to visit my dad last weekend, and stopped on the way to get some food. The cardboard cups for the drinks were left with the dregs in them overnight, still in the cup holders, as we were driving another 4 hours after stopping and didn't arrive until after 1am.
So, no problem you might think, but no - these cups leaked coke into the bottom of the cup holders.
No problem you might think again, clean it out. Well yes, in hindsight I should have known that these cups will leak and checked before I slipped the cup holders closed.
So, driving around a day or so later, I notice something running out from above the radio. Turns out to be coke, which has been sitting coagulating underneath the cup holders and is now entering the top of the head unit.
It still works as a radio and cd player, but the tape door is glued shut with coke and the volume control no longer turns - it also is glued in place.
So, does anyone have any hints for something that will remove coke?
My current plan is to remove the head unit, clean out the housing, open the radio and disassemble the front panel on it, and then clean it all with some switch cleaner.
Suffolk is more dangerous than you think...
