Compressor in Boot

I bought my A2 a couple of weeks ago without the tyre sealant as the dealer was waiting for one from Audi. I have also noticed that there is gap where I think the compressor lives. Should the dealer also provide me with a compressor?

Sorry this seems a daft question but I want to make sure I get everything I should have with the car.

I also have a space above the tool kit between the battery and the jack which has some wiring to it - can anyone tell me what this might be for?

yes there should be a blue box which holds the battery operated compresser for inflating the tyres

Hi Madkat
Its unlikely but check the compressor has not been stored in one of the the compartments in the front footwells.
The space in the boot is used for the optional sat nav unit (the one without the colour screen)

Cheers Spike

If you have the BOSE hi-fi system fitted the sealant and compressor lives under the drivers feet...

[WOW! Just noticed that this tiny post was my 1000th!!!! hehehe]

the space with the wires is for the 6-disk changer or the sat nav,,, Do you have the sealant ? That would be a white canister. They may be under the drivers foot well.

if you can't get them out of the squealer let me know as I have both you can have for less than the trade price - make me an offer.

Thanks, no luck in the footwells either. I'm definitely missing both the sealant and the compressor so I'll try and get these out of the dealer.

The sealant from Audi is not cheap! I had a flat recently and the repalcement sealant cost £24.70 + VAT for a 700ml can - £29.02. My A2 has the 17 inch sport wheels. There is another tyre sealant kit which costs £30.56 inc VAT but is only 450ml! This may be for 3 cylinder diesel engines, does anybody know? By the way sealant has to be carried by law if no spare is fitted to the car.

Re the boot and location of the sealant I have SAT NAV plus (colour screen), Bose and CD changer parts all in the boot. In my A2 the sealant, compressor and all tools are located under the floor, drivers side. The floor panel is easily removed by 3 plastic screw plug fasteners but take care not to bend the panel as it is partly located under the carpeting under the seats and catches. The ali panel is soft and bends easily and refitting will require a little extra messing.

If you use the sealant do you need to replace the trye or can they remove the sealant gunk when reparing the puncture
