Concert radio codes.

I thought i was very lucky to have my original radio code card in the manual until we found it didn,t work. A quick check of the serial number revealed that at sometime the concert CD player had been changed for some reason for a new one.

A telephone call to the dealers used to result in them supplying a new code if you had the units serial number. Unfortunately this has now changed for security reasons and i can understand the reason why.

I took the car into Audi Wakefield and they couldn,t have been more helpful. Within five minutes they had my car in the garage, obtained the new code, and had my concert working again. They even supplied me with the correct code, all for free, which i thought was very good service.

Thats great to know Dave!

I have a concert in my tdi and no code, although its working i would like to find the code for it.

I just replaced my concert radio and found the code was on a sticker with Italian writing on the unit itself.
But nice to hear the dealers sorted that out for you for free

I have a sneaky suspicion that the free service was possibly down to the amount of money i have spent there recently on new suspension parts but i was very grateful nontheless. :)

For info, later model cars with canbus infotainment systems and Series 2 radio units (Concert 11 etc) should remember the code when the radio is removed or the battery is disconnected. This only applies when the original factory fit radio is installed.
Not sure how this works when a replacement unit is fitted

It works the same, as far as I am aware. Certainly with RNS-E, at least.

Matt.

Hi Matt, do you mean that if you enter the radio code of a replacement unit, the car remembers the code after being disconnected.

Hi Spike,

Yes, that's correct. It certainly works with RNS-E. I'm also pretty sure it works with the standard Concert, Chorus etc units, but I can't be 100% sure; I don't remember having to re-input the code when the replacement Concert in the FSI was last removed.
