condensation and damp

Hello to all

I have had my A2tdi for about a year and a half now, and I am getting a lot of condensation in the car, the blower (not got climate control) takes an age to clear it, it also has a damp smell, and I have now got some mould growing on the boot carpet - anyone got any ideas where to look/what to do.

I'd start by checking all door and window seals.

With the recent wet weather the carpets can get and stay wet. Try some rubber over-mats. Put some newspaper under them to help absorb the excess moisture.

Once the dampness as gone so should the smell. In the meantime use an air freshener of your preference.
 
I had the same problem a wet boot and rear seats and i think i may have solved it by replacing the vents behind the pumper water runs down boot shut onto gutter on top of bumper which runs to the corner down behind bumper and this water runs over top of a vent if this has a poor seal or vent is broken it will run into the car. Vent part number 4A0819181 their are 2 of these 1 each side and are same part number cost me £10.96 each +vat from Audi.

Car starts then stops

It is related to the above topic so here goes

Hello I have a 53 plate 1.4tdi my problem is that after drying the car out with the use of a fan heater the car starts but cuts out after about 5 secounds. When the door is open nothing is displayed on the dash and the same when the key is put in and turned to position II apart from 4 symbols Air bag, Battery, ABS, and Engine managment but no dash lights with lights on either and the electric windows do not work. In the boot I removed mouldings for tools and jack to soak up water I also removed tray for what i believed to be for the Sat Nav CD rom this has a component (any idea what this is?)attached to it I unclipped this but did not disconnect it maybe nothing to do with it.

Thanks for the response. Yes thats the part thanks. Radio aeriel system well every days a school day. Update on cutting out! Got up this morning open door time etc comes on key in and turn everything does what it should and starts with out cutting out! Must have been the damp condensing where it should not have after drying with fan heater.
