Confused messages - 1.4TDI

Hi All,

I wonder if any of you might be able to help.

I tried to start my car this evening. The car will not start, although it trys to, but stops, just as it starts. The display console starts to flash the following symbols:
Glowplug light
Engine Immoboliser
Brake Failure
'FUSE' display above the odometer.

I have check all the fuses engine fuse, which are fine. I have tried the spare key in case the immoboliser ket had failed.

The AA have been to see it, but couldn't help, even after the engineer was told that the engine was in the front.

Is this still likely to be a Brake Switch failure that some of these symptoms point to?

I'll have to call the Audi dealer in Slough tomorrow, unfortunately, I have not heard great thigns about them!

Any suggestions welcome.
 
This sounds more like you've got a failure of the reader coil to me, which in reality could just be a break in the wire or a connector issue.

The reader coil is housed in the plastic circle around the ignition barrel and it reads the chip in your key and OK's it with the immo system.

Failing this, it could be wiring in the passenger footwell compartment - lift the carpet and the panel and then undo and remake all the connections down there.
