Creaking dashboard...

Hello,

Does anybody have any solution to my creaking dashboard? It happens during accelerations, braking and driving on holes. The dashboard seems to be screwed properly. Does someone of You have a similar problem??

Creaking dashboards are different from car to car-there is no pattern to some of the creaks-what happens in one car doesn't mean it will ever happen in yours.

You can get your dealer to look into the creaks for you, but be warned-if they strip the dashboard you may end up with more creaks than you started with!.

You could always ask your dealer for advice on silicone spray which the dealer uses to stop some creaks.

How old is your A2?

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm now waiting for my dealer to tell when they will strip the dashboard out... :-/
It's not a good solution but is the only thing they 've got.

In the past I've read that some people had problems with the internal heated, and other with cables.
But our problem seems a little bit different... could it be "lack of construction quality"???
Could we be facing a "car-built-on-a-Monday"???

Lets see what happens after the dashboard operation.

I will keep you posted.

I had my dashboard taken out last year (replace the evaporator). Shrewsbury Audi did an excellent job - I have had no creaks or rattles.

Well, My Audi is 3 years old (June 2000), but it has only 45000KM in the counter.
