As it was quite expensive to DHL the box from Switzerland to Germany, and back, plus the customs tax, plus the fact I was not 100% confident to fiddle with all that stuff myself and finally because I have some good friends en route... I decided to bite the bullet, set off Saturday afternoon from Montreux and was in Potsdam on Sunday afternoon.1050 kms only ...! Had booked a room in Potsdam, did a bit of sight seeing - it's a beautiful city - and was at Mirco's on Monday at 9. Very friendly and knowledgeable guy, just a shame his English is as bad as my German. Less than 2 hours later, I was ready to hit the road back. He had fitted the lever for me (which I had bought and brought from cum-cartec), reprogrammed the box, and tested it. Also, he kindly took the opportunity to tidy up my ipod controller wires. I was back home by Tuesday afternoon. Now, I have just arrived in Montpellier, so I have driven 2800 km since saturday afternoon, 1700 of them with the cruise control.
And do you know what? It is absolutely fantastic. Brilliant. A priceless addition to the 3L model. It makes the drive so much more relaxing and steady.
It was a long drive, but really worth the effort.
