hi everyone just wondering if anyone has had 2 twin exhaust fitted im wondering how it might look plus does anyone know of a custom exhaust place in manchester thanks

I've had a custom exhaust made - 2.5" stainless with a de-cat and straight through baffle. You won't be able to get away with a de-cat though, on a petrol, as you'll fail the MOT.

What area are you in? I had to travel to Burscough for this.

Cheers,

Mike

What was the place called in Burscough that did your Exhaust., As I used to live in Ormskirk, didn't know there was a place that did them.

They're called Pipewerx and are on Carr Lane, near the Ring O' Bells.

Good workmanship and thoroughly recommended.

Mike

I was looking at doing my own custom twin pipe, as my brother works for a company that makes the low zone exhausts for buses etc..... and he was looking into it but since then he's been working out of the country and he's not been at the factory may still come off

OEM exhaust

I am thinking of changing the rear part of my exhaust (with the rear box).

..my question is, if I were to do this, will it throw up any vag com codes that means I will need to have access to in order to complete this task or will I just be able to change the parts and be ready to go so to speak???

Cheers.

As long as you only change from after the second lambda sensor, you shouldn't get any errors thrown up.

Make sure you get a stainless steel system made and have it so thatit clamps onto the original system, so that if needed, you can replace the front part without having to cut anything.

An inline silencer (like mine) could be an option too, saving weight and speace.

Mike

Cheers Mike,

I was just going to go the oem route and get the part from audi and try to self fit (have done before on another type of car which wasn't too bad as long as the bolts aren't too tight), I know I should get some copper grease, it's just that I'm getting really fed up with the system seemingly blowing and audi stating nothing wrong with it, so now going to try a hap-harzard process of elimination....

You could get a rear part, but you'll need to cut the old one off, as it's one piece from the factory (I think!).

The middle silencer section is £160, the clamp is £15 and the back box is £271, so you're looking at around £450, which could buy you a VERY nice stainless custom system, with change left over.

OK, so you wouldn't be able to get your hands dirty, but the longevity, sound and fit/finish will be worth it.

Cheers,

Mike
