DAB antenna install

I live in Norway, where all national radio stations Are 100% digital. Therefore i have bought a DAB+ radio, and need to install a active DAB antenna.

It has to be installed on The Windshield, connected to earth on The A-pillar. How do i Remove The A-pillar cover? And what is The most easy and Nice way to streatch The antenna cable from There to she radio unit?

Any advice is welcome.

There shouldn't be any requirement to earth the aerial to the A pillar. This is what I used:

The earth is provided by the outer screening on the aerial connection to the radio. On the above there is a connection for 12v power but if that power can be provided through the aerial cable by the radio, that connection is not required.

May not work on an A2, but Mk1 TT owners (not me, I'm sticking with FM and streaming), have found that fitting an active FM/DAB splitter at the radio end works. I had thought that the frequency range of the Audi aerial amp would not work at the higher DAB frequency, but seems that may not be the case.
Certainly worth a try, I think.
Mac.

It did work on my A2! It doesn't use the Audi aerial amp for DAB.

Yeah, how do you get the A pillar cover off and route the wire to the HU behind the dash ?

@Raymie I said on your other thread that I run microphone and light sensor cables up the A pillar trim. It is not secured along its rear edge and if you pull the door rubber out of the front and upper side of the door you will see a gap just to the right of the dash. Cables can exit the dash then be slipped into the A pillar trim up to the top of the trim if needed or just exit out the front of the trim by the windscreen. No real need to remove the complete A pillar trim and its foot guide.

Ah, So up along door rubber first then enter A pillar cover at top - is that right ?

I Might need a pic to follow your explanation ….

From a picture of a LHD car taken off the net. Remove the door rubber trim in the area marked red. The trim piece marked yellow will come off. You now have access to the side of the dash to run cables and upwards into the upper A pillar.

Thanks @audifan ,
Apologies for my very delayed response ; I'm just getting around to have another go at this job !

That should simplify the task if I don't have to remove the A-Pillar trim.

I'll still need to expose some metal where the A-Pillar meets the roof to earth the antenna.

Cheers,
Raymie
