I bought an audi a2 tdi off a second hand car dealer.H e was a decent enough guy.Had the car a few days and a few problems started to arise a quick call and he said he would sort them out no problem great i thought.True to his word a few days later the car was fixed and ready to pick up.One of the problems was the drinks holder not working properly which i thought was an easy fix.I checked the car the next day in the light and to my horror there where screw driver marks on the dash insert where the mechanics (if you can call the shower of B******S that) had levered the drinks holder out there where marks marks all over it.So i rang up and told the dealer and he told me he hadnt checked the car as the mechanic had told him everything was fixed.I told him i wouldnt let his rats go anywhere the car again and that i wanted the insert replacing. He has now ordered the part from my local Audi and i told him i would get it fitted.

The part number is M-U8Z0 951 D6 PS N/STK AIR VENT IN BLACK

Is there any body he could tell me the easiest way how to remove and replace this dash insert please. It goes up to the top of the vents and the centre console and finishes just below the cup holders above the radio sorry to go on but am really pissed off . Eargerly waiting a response thanks in advance guys i know i can rely on the members for help at least.:)

Hi Adam,

Sorry to hear of your misfortune - at least you'll get it fixed properly eventually.

I'll attach a photo showing the method of removing the vent section shortly, but it basically involves removing the radio and then the 2 screws behind it to release the vent.

Cheers,

Mike

Here you go - one diagram relates to the removal of the radio, which you need to do before you can access the screws which hold in the centre vent, the mechanics of which are shown in the second diagram.

Hope this helps,

Mike
