Dashboard lights Flashing Intermittently

I started to use my 2005 1.4 TDI (75) a2 again today after about 2-3 weeks of it standing due to a flat.
It was fine until about a mile down the road, when with any noticeable cause, 6-7 of the dashboard warning lights started to flash. (glowplug, sidelight, ESP, Immobiliser, ABS and Handbrake light are the ones i remember)
After I pulled over they continued to flash while the car was at a standstill. Yet when i turned around to go back home, the flashing stopped after 200 or so yards or driving. Later the same day, i drove around some quiet roads near me to see if i could figure out what would set them off again and after a few miles ( and after going up to 60mph and reving to 4000rpm) the lights stayed off. Yet when l i was doing 30mph odd round a bend on the way back, they flashed twice more before again stopping.
After checking the manual i haven't (yet) found a particular reason the lights would flash intermittently in this way, hopefully someone here might have a better idea that i do!
Any reply's appreciated

Scan the car to see what fault codes have been logged. Could be low battery voltage if it’s been stood a few weeks particularly if the battery is not particularly new

I had those exact symptoms and was pointed in the direction of the earth lead, a re-routed standard cable and an additional one fitted for good luck later and I have hd no other issues.

Thanks for your reply.
If possible can you point me in the direction of the earth cable that was faulty on your car so that I have an idea of where to start?

Fully charge your battery. If it is old replace it with the correctly rated one for your car.
