Hi forum.
I recently bought by 03 tdi sport from Fontains, berks. They wouldnt haggle on the price despite a couple of cosmetic flaws... but ok, its a nice car. They put a new 12 month MOT on & as a gesture of goodwill gave me 12months tax... NICE !
Driving home to Yorkshire became aware of knocking coming from both front wheel areas.... made mental note to check with my garage on return.
Garage, (an audi specialist), said if u bought this from a dealer take it back. Anti roll bar has failed, bushes gone & rods likely to need replacing. He said it should have failed its MOT on these.
Telephoned Fontains ... they said to put it through on their 3 month supplied warranty.
I telephoned the Warranty people couldn't confirm if the items listed were covered on policy. I suspect not.

So I am speaking to VOSA ... I'll keep you posted

Sorry to hear you are having bother with the car. Like you said, its a nice one and I'm sure this will get sorted as a minor teething problem!
If you search on here, the front anti roll bar issue is very common with A2's and some of the mechanical guru's can probably advise you further.
Fontain have a good reputation and they will want to keep it. If the car has been sold to you with faults that would constitute an MOT failure, then this is not acceptable and I think they are bound to come good for you. You can read up on sale of goods legislation etc, in addition to scouring the small print in the warranty policy.
You paid top dollar for the car so Fontain should have sold it in 100% roadworthy condition. It's a pity your a long way from Bucks!

Either way, I trust things are sorted soon!

I have noticed on here that some have only got adviseries about the ARB bushes and some have had them as a fail as i did, last year i just knoked the sleave back in and it past this year replacing it with the new at the same time as suspention upgrade

Cheers Phil

When I bought our A2 from the local Audi dealer it failed it's MOT (pre-delivery to me) on the ARB issue. A new bar was fitted before we collected the car. I would have thought it depends on how much noise or play there is when the bar is inspeceted. This then becomes a matter of who tested the car??? and how bad the noise or movement seems??

Difficult one to judge, but I hope yours is sorted out asap.

David
