Diesal cap button fallen off!

Hi there, my diesal cap button has fallen out! The button itself, the white internal bit and I assume a spring, popped out. Although I've managed to slot the white plastic bit back in and can open the cap by pushing it, it is bent and I'm not sure how much longer it will last Windsor and Maidenhead-20120626-00019.jpg

Has anyone else experienced this? How easy was it to be repaired? The garage I took it to, suggested mending it with glue but I don't have the spring anymore :( any help would be much appreciated.

As Dan said buy a new switch.

Recently replaced the fuel and alarm switch, I think they cost me £30 for both. So I would guess you are looking around £15

Amazing, thank you! Please excuse my complete lack of knowledge! 21yo female...say no more!

Welcome - didn't notice the newness of the post count!
How long have you had the A2? What model is it?

The button you want to replace you can order easily enough from a local Audi dealer. The part itself is also very easy to fit yourself - give it a go!

It's not a problem having a lack of knowledge of A2's. We were all newbies once, before I found this site my knowledge of A2s was nothing. But thanks to the great boys and girls here I have learnt quite a bit:)

Have a good look around and you will find what you need to know. And if you can't find what you are looking for just post and we will try to help.

Welcome to the A2oc.

Thank you!:)

Its a 2002 1.4 TDI which I've had about a year. My mum owned it from new but she was selling it to get the A1 so sadly no mates rates for me! She really misses it now though! How about everyone else? All still a2 owners?

I've owned my A2 TDi for 4 years now, downsized to it from an A4 Avant; great little car! Nice to have an A1 and an A2 in the family though!

That's funny I got my A2 through the same way. It was my step mums from new. Dad had trouble with getting in and out with his arthritis, so they wanted somthing with a wider door. She got a vw beetle. She still wishes she had got rid of it. But she is happy it has gone to a good home with me and the A2oc:)
