Hi,

I'm the lucky "owner" of al leased Audi A2. Since I have a great interest in car audio and navigation (and have somme willing sponsors behind me), I want to install a headunit and a DVD-navigation unit. Judging by the pictures, an A2 in Britain comes standard with a double DIN in the centre console. Mine, a Belgian one, however comes with another lay-out: from top to bottom, first you encounter the cup-holders, then there is a radio-slot, and then comes the airco-unit, followed by a little space where you can put cds and stuff. It is in fact DIN-sized, but when you remove it, you can't retain your radio, and you can't use those smart little black pieces next to the radio above, since the shape of the centre console changes as you go down further. Does anyone know what I should do? Mind you, it's a company car, so don't tell me I need to wreck the entire centre console. I've had enough fun connecting my former GPS (one-DIN-size) and lookig for a place to lay my RCA-cables for the amp in my trunk!

UK cars don't come standars with double DIN radios no. Standard is same setup that you have with the little storage holder below the AC controls. Only symphony and GPS radios are double DIN... not sure if you can move them around once installed though...

As far as I know, you can switch the aircon-control unit for another one that will fit the "lower" slot (where the small box to put things in is now), but it may be quite expensive....

Bye, Frido.
