My Dis will not reset, press the reset button and the display goes, press again and it returns, but nothing is reset. Any ideas before I resort to Mr VW or Mr Audi?

A single press of the (underneath) button will turn the DIS on/off.
To reset you need to hold the button for a moment.
Need then to press the button at the end of the stork to move through the different items and cancel each in turn by holding the button underneath for a moment.
There are two items you cannot cancel i.e. mpg and miles (to refill).

Not really trebor, pressing the button blanks the screen, releasing it (or pressing again) re-lights the screen, but nothing is re-set. But thanks anyway. Interestingly Mr VW said that would be happy to help if it does not involve the diagnostic software because they don't have it. Does it involve the diagnostic software?

like trebor said, the button underneath is for turning it on or off... to reset the DIS, you need to hold that button in for about 2 seconds and it will reset the currently displayed item, such as average mpg.

Prepellor and trebor. You are right, and I've had the A2 for 4 years. I'll go and stand in the corner and write out 100 times "I must hold it in longer for it to be effective". I've never had this problem before, I blame it on the chemotherapy, it does strange things to your brain, really.
