Dog bone mount

Thanks Tomscar, I assume you got it at a bargain price.👍🏻 Did you by any chance check who made the new one? Cheers Ali
Hi Ali, it was a lot less expensive than from my local Audi franchise, just can't put me hands on the invoice to check the price at the minute.
Some information from the Skoda parts department which might be of use to you though if you go down this route:

The AK and AL suffix applies to whether it's for the auto or the manual gearbox, the fixing bracket is a different shape for each but the actual pendulum mount (dogbone) is identical in both ... you discard this bracket and use the A2 one anyway, so you can buy whichever is in stock.

The rubber bushing within the Skoda Fabia dogbone has the same numbers and letters moulded onto it as the one it replaced from Audi.

Hopefully that makes sense.

All the best .... Tom

I replaced the org. BHC engine support 8Z0 199 851 AA with Febi 31083 - 6Q0 199 851 AA.

BHC+ ATL: 8Z0 199 851 AA
AMF : 8Z0 199 851 H
ANY+AUA +BBY+BAD: 8Z0 199 851 J, R, S and K

Febi 31113 covers suff. AG and AQ and Febi 108779 cover AR.
Sorry, but i dont understand which part fits AUA engine. 31113 covers all?

Hi

if you look back over this thread for the entry from @Tomscar he has posted two helpful pictures showing the part number he fitted to a BBY (which will also fit the earlier AUA you have from your video). You have to swap the mounting bracket supplied with the dog bone with the one you remove from your car

As @birtyA2 says above ... sorry, I haven't worked on an AUA and can't answer with 100% certainty but looking at the 7Zap drawings the AUA and BBY have the same mounting points.
Thank you Tomscar. but it looks like i dont need dog bone any more. I found the source of rattling noise in engine bay. It turns out the bolt holding dog bone is moving and is loose. When i tried to thghten it, it was just turning. Now i know that the bolt thread or captive nut thread is gone. Taking the car to mechanic on thursday, to see what can be done. BTW. same mechanic replaced my clutch 2 weeks ago. And thats when the rattling noise start.
Thanks again

I had the same problem as you - I fixed it by drilling and using a helicoil kit. Problem solved.

i heard about this solution. if this bolt is not taking a lot of pressure from dog bone(rubber), this might be it.
But i think dog bone takes a lot of force form engine movements. Will helicot kit really be strong enough?
One solution crossed my mind. If there is space from top side of assembly carrier, maybe another screw nut can be placed on top of the welded one? Only bolt will have to be longer.?

My retainer nut does move abit when I have to refit the bolt.
Is it a case that It could just be replaced altogether and tack welded in place . Does anyone have I exploded view of the assembly?

Looks like a couple of hours of fun to drop that to replace . But I think that's the way I would go . Unless you wanted to drill a larger hole and retap it larger as it looks meaty from the photo .

I appreciate this is an old thread but just got a FEBI BILSTEIN from amazon ( sold and despatched from amazon ) for £24.95 ...
VW / SKODA are currently £72 just for info.

That’s an amazing price - can you post a link to it in the spotted > parts section of marketplace?
