Welcome new members!

Since 5th June, many people have and continue to join the forum but hardly any of the new 'folk' have been posting.

We're a very friendly bunch, so don't hold back, get involved and post away!

Regards,

Stuart [23]

Am I the oldest a20c member (approaching 59)?

In March 2001 bought silver A2 SE 1.4 petrol (plus Open Sky, Symphony radio, aluminium trim (v.classy!) etc). Previous cars were VW (original) Beetle, then 2 Golfs. Notice all VAG originated.

Adore my A2 but wonder why it is so little regarded by Audi. Took it in for service and dealer immediately assumed it was a loan car!

Question: My A2 does not have a spare tyre. Should I invest in a space-saver and only carry it on trips? If so, what is the best way to purchase one?

Hi Sarah.

Glad you've come out of the woodwork. As Stuart said, we are a friendly bunch - and actually quite addictive.

As for the spare wheel issue, this has been discussed on previous occasions. My personal thoughts are that a spare is preferable due to the fact that the foam is no good if you rip the side-wall of a tyre - as has happened to people on this forum. From memory, a spacesaver is about £200. May seem a lot but if it saves you towing fees and/or being stranded, no contest really.

Spacesavers are a no-cost option on new cars, so anyone thinking of getting a new A2, this is the way to go.

A very poorly A2 at present! :(

these are the specs:

-heated mirrors

Welcome A2rijder.nl!

Sarah - my A2 also only came without a spacesaver tyre and so I ordered one that now sits below the false floor secured with harness straps (also available from Audi). It's a worthwhile investment. Can't remember how much it was, but I'm sure it was not more than £200.
