Information Double buggy for the A2 - found!

A2OC Donor
My 2nd daughter is two months old and the elder one is close to 2.5yr. I guess I'm a typical 2+2 household so I think this might be useful to A2 owning parents. We used to use a BabyStyle Oyster and it fits well. We bought a Maxi Cosi Mila stroller which fits in the A2's boot in either vertical or horizontally flat unlike any other umbrella strollers. But the elder one still likes to sit and the little one is heavier by the day, we needed a double buggy. The A2 will swallow many double buggies, but it won't leave much space for luggage should we need a trip. Until now...

I just received a Joovy Caboose Ultralight! And guess what, it fits snug and completely flat at the bottom of the boot! It is an American product so I have not seen the physical product before but guessed it is touch and go to fit flat. Well, initial feel is great. It is as my wife described it 'a little bit of garage DIY' but in a good garage-engineering way. Everything has a purpose, functional and nothing fancy. It is minimalistic but by far the lightest on the market. Build quality seems good and the elder child has the option to stand or sit at the back. The folded size (without canopy) is almost made-for-A2, as shown in the photo :)

We can definitely take this plus luggage for holiday trips, no need for a roof box!

Very useful to know :) We have decided to keep the A2 now that child number 2 is on the way.....just trying to find a buggy that a maxi cosi baby seat can go in and has a standing plate on the back for number 1 daughter....oh and it has to fit in the A2 boot :)

Wow, that does fit well.

We are using a Phil & Teds Vibe. Of course this dismantles nicely, but we fit it in with wheels and second seat on ok. Just not much room for luggage as you eluded to. However, we really like the sturdy Vibe.

I like the Vibe, it was my preferred choice as it is sturdy and very smooth to push. But couple of problems specific to us, my wife is short and she struggles with the heavy lifting too, even the lighter P&T models. I could make her work but I know the one who really suffers will be my rear bumper! The other option is split chassis type like the iCandy that you pull away the seats, then fold the frame. Relatively compact and individual pieces aren't heavy. But it is a setup close to £1000 as is a Bugaboo Donkey.

This Joovy really solves the weight issue for us with some other issues solved. The child in the lower seat of a Phil & Ted can't see anything. A side by side stroller like the Bugaboo is inconvenient in narrow shops. The down side is these wheels on the Joovy are no match to P&T/iCandy/Bagaboo when it comes to smooth pushing on every types of surfaces. It is a less well known brand, and I hope it gives potential parents more options to consider!

Brio Double Wave fits an A2 trunk. Of course the canopy and wheels must be taken off, but not a big hassle with that Brio. It's a great pram on grass and pebble or snow, if you can find one. It's aluminum chassis also! :)
