Double din wanted

The unit 'box' size may be the same but I'd be surprised if the face plate is, be prepared to cut it down, I'd be interested in how you go on fitting this as I'm interested in doing the same but haven't the bottle or time to try it. Could you write a fitting guide, all forum members would be interested I'm sure.

I may be selling our existing SatNav Plus in the near future. If I do this I will also end up with a spare TV module as well.
 
TV module sounds good :) Asked in the stealership today and they said no A2's were double din. Pretty sure he was wrong, but he looked at his parts list and said there was none available.

Anyone know different....Spike ?

Unlike many other Audi models there is no double din cage available to convert the single din dash so in theory, the whole dash needs to be replaced. Frido, one of our long standing German contributors has reported that members of the German A2oc have reworked their dashboards to take double din Sat Nav units but I have not seen any detailed info on how this is done.

I think that CraigyB mentioned that he fitted the Nav+ to an A2 that already had a Symphony set, so that would have been double DIN already, I guess...

Yes he did GrayB, thats why I thought it strange that Audi said the A2's have never had double din headunits. There must be some brackets or something tho :confused:
Well, gonna collect it tomorrow and we'll see......I do like to mess on with things, but I tend to steer well clear of cars etc, computers and stuff I'm fine with.
 
Bit of an update, collected it today, and after speaking with the seller and a good chat with Spike, I feel slightly more confident :D

Dremmel day tomorrow...... :eek: 2 days might see me having it fitted :rolleyes:
