When closing the driver window, it closes and then automatically opens again by about 10 cm, like if something got in the way or? I checked everything but haven't figured out why this happens (now and then, no particular connection to speed, or weather) Anyone any ideas?

I had the same problem in the same window.

You must go to your AUDI dealer, they must adjust inside the door.

I hope you have warranty

Tell me.... Is the corner of the glass well adjusted in the corner of the rubber?

i have the same problem on the drivers door
Went to Audi and they said that its only muck in the glass runners and i could have the door stripped down and all runners cleaned but they seemed to think it was muck and gave me some audi grease and sprayed that down the runners when the window was fully down.
Let the window come up then back down again.
Do this a couple of times and the problem should ease since i have done this twice and it seems to remedy the problem.
I have asked Audi what causes this problem and they have said it is when the rubber around the glass is very tight fitting it causes friction and thus causes a drag on the window motor which is then felt by a torque switch which then thinks there is an obstruction like an arm or neck so stops and backs off.
This Audi said has been developed since the scare of a peoples heads getting stuck in a electric windows this is just another safety feature.
Apparently the A4 before the upto date model used to suffer quite badly from this syndrome.
Audi never recalled them just cleaned them when they came for service hence the problems still develops on vehicles.
Since i don't really use my windows that much i just tend to clean them every so often and not had any problems since.

hope this sheds some light on the history of this fault.

Thanks, I'll try the Audi (?) grease if it doesn't help, the warranty will.

Yep - I've had the same problem. But in my case the window decided to open the 10cm some time AFTER I had left it parked on the street! Audi carried out some internal warranty work.

However I have a new intermittent fault: When I use the auto function to drop the drivers window into the door I can't get it to rise again. Its like all the power has been turned off to the switches as it also affects the passenger switch(?). To turn it back on I have to use the internal central locking switch to close and then open the doors and power is restored. Not that is weird.

yes
that is the same problem i had and it is all connected i think to the window motors and their torque sensors cutting in.
but when you put the key in the lock it overrides the switches and they should come up.
The passenger window switch is cut out because it is a slave switch to the master switch which is on the drivers door if the motors in either window become too hot or the torque sensors cut in they will cut power to all switchs even the ones that have not been used to open and close the window.
i can't see why your windows should drop after you have left the car for some time though[21]

MMMM i would monitor that.
Anyway try the silcon free grease you get supplied by audi should be in a small white bottle with red writing on it with a spray nozzle attached so as you can guide it down the runners of the window when the window is in the down position.
If that does'nt work then audi should strip the door down and check all guides and runners .
i don't think it will be any major electric fault but let me know how you get on hope it turn's out o.k.

bye
