Drivers side door mirror came off

hey everyone,
Kinda been havin an interestin day so far, went outside about to leave for uni and somefin looked strange with the car, someone broke my drivers side mirror, literally it was on the pavement, the whole housings come off, the trim the, the base, the clamps broken as if someone yanked it so the part left on the door (the triangle shape thing im guessing also needs replacing)....badly damaged paint on the housing, the electrical wires seemed ok though for a relief and were popping out of the side, so decided to mount it back on with ducktape and looks fine, conected the wires back and the motor working fine 2.....i gota a real problem now, i think ill have to change the whole side mirror, the housing and the base that is connected to the motor...the problem is the clamps broken that kept the wing mirror on the door, so ill have to replace the black panel that is attached with the door 2, oh an the mirrors broken 2, would really like it if someone helps me out here....called up audi and they go 120 for the whole part, don even wanna think about the labour but i have a guy who said hell do it for 20 quid but thought might ask if anyone else has the same problem...any people out there to share the knowledge lol a cheaper part place maybe, went to this service guy and he goes that audi only manufacture the whole thing....any ideas from anyone.......may the scums rot in hell, filed a police report but my insurance is most likely to go up so dont prefer that way, still claiming my no claims bonus...

thanks guys for the update, but rich a question for u, ive looked at the parts, they only have the casing and the mirror itself....the motor bit i need aswell, any ideas for that one or do u reckon i can only get that from audi themselves...ill also need a new panel that fits onto the car itself since the clamping mechanisms broken.....what u reckon, anyone got any ideas...thanks fur the help so far, ooooo another question, vagparts are giving the casing but says quote " Plain black mirror case for the Audi A2. These are supplied unpainted"....is that ok for me, my cars black but will it be the proper black paint , if not any idea ow u got it painted and how much it cost....

The shells are supplied in unpainted form - you'll have to get the painting done locally to match, which will be in the region of £25 or so.

The motors are available from VAGParts, call them first and they are also available at the dealers, much quicker too!

If you can, mail a photo of the damage, as I'll be able to advise on parts needed a lot easier.

motor is about £50-60. Glass is around £30. So I would say that it will cost a least £150 for your new mirror : (
