Spotted last night on the Ranelagh Road at about 6ish

Red 05 D Reg Colour Storm. 1.4 Petrol.

Lovely looking vehicle.

Interestingly enough, I got to see first hand the black roof on the Colour Storm that I had been asking about on another thread.

hey that was me! i live in ranelagh and had just bought the car a few weeks after your post. just browsing around the forums now for the first time in ages. trying to find a good dealer in dublin for it's first service. i've read terrible things about Park Motors/MSL/MDL and am not too bent on getting a main dealer since i intend to keep the car for a long time. do you mind me asking where you get your A2 serviced and are they any good?
i bought the car at only 5k miles, nearly up to 10 now. i love it loads, and got a good price too because the previous owner was emigrating and had to sell in a hurry.

by the way, not sure if all the a2 roofs are metal but the black one on my a2 makes some noise during heavy rain (or hailstones!).

Good to see such a nice A2 around Dublin as most of them here seem fairly basic.

I have been getting my car serviced at Isaac Agnew in Belfast. I did get one done with Foster Motor Co. who put it on fixed servicing, despite my request for variable, so I have not gone back to them.

With the currency differential, it is a fair bit cheaper so you could go up to Belfast, get Agnews to put you in a taxi into town or to Ikea, do some shopping, Agnews will pay for a taxi back and then it is a 2hr drive back to Dublin.

I know I have complained about Agnews frequently on here but compared to the franchised Audi dealers in Dublin they are streets ahead.

I agree with Smick. Take it up to Agnews. I have an Allroad and my heart has been broken with the shoddy service from Dublin dealers (not to mention the rip off prices). They were ok when the car was newish and just needed regular servicing. However, it has 90k miles on it now and things like the air suspension have needed attention. Agnews know the car well so there was no hassle.

The first time I heard of variable servicing was when I brought the car up to Agnews. I have never been offered it by a Southern Audi dealer. Probably fear they'll get less money out of their customers.

When I picked up a 03 A2 for my wife, it was straight up to Agnews for a service and the belts. I'm in Donabate, so it's only 90 mins up the road. Plan it well and you can have a nice day out in Belfast to boot.

great, thanks for the tip. agnews sounds like it's well worth the trip. i'd probably spend an hour sitting in traffic getting to park motors anyway, so an extra hour is no bother.
cheers
tim

I'm in Donabate too but have never seen another A2 around.

Have you ever seen me?

Hi,

Yes, saw yours one evening coming over the railway bridge about 3 weeks ago. We only have ours about a month so I'm sure you'll see it around.

Also saw a silver one a couple of times. I think it lives in Portrane or maybe somebody who works in the hospital.

We live off the Beaverstown Road beside the golf club.

Probably me being too lazy to walk to the Super Valu.

We live in the Gallery.

I'm an avid spotter.

It's a pity I'm leaving Ireland as I reckon we probably have enough people, North and South to have a social meet and try to get the English people over. Maybe meet in Belfast so the likes of Glock doesn't have so far to travel down from Coleraine.

Thanks for the thought but I've never forgiven you for not being in your car the day I spotted it!

Cheers

Hi Smick,

I too have thought about possible ways to bring A2 owners on this side of the Irish Sea together. My first thought was to drive the length of the A2 road, which is the main coast road around Northern Ireland. See attached map. Then I worked out that would take over 7 hours to cover the 239 miles, without stops! Spectacular scenery though...

John.

Looks like a nice drive. Hold that thought:)
