Is there any way of checking the above unit to see if it's working or does it have to be a direct replacement. The reason I'm asking is I'm still having a fault code on my mfsw showing no comms with the E221 unit and non of the radio buttons are lighting up or working on it( airbag and horn seem fine).
I've checked all the wiring to the unit through the slipring etc and everything seems to be working OK I just need a way to check the E221, and I'm a little reluctant to take it to a dealer as I was quoted £73 for 1/2 hour diagnostic time never mind fixing it.
