I posted somewhere else in the Forum about this yesterday. Timmus had a look on Saturday afternoon when I took the A2 for Diagnosis of the Power Steering Fault. He also struggled like me. Could not understand why those pointed bolts would not start but he would not be beaten. Finally realised that his 13mm Socket was like mine. The bolts just slide up into the socket, or the socket just slides down over the bolts if you like, so no downward pressure can be applied to the bolts to get them to engage. Cured by putting a spacer inside the socket.
Going back to the Misfire, I used my new spare Genuine VAG Coil to fix it

I like to keep a Spare one in the A2. What do people recommend other than Genuine VAG Coils please ? I’ve gone right off Bosch stuff after I realised the Spark Plugs say “ Joseph Bosch Hamburg. Made in China “.
I will never buy a Bougicord Coil after a new one fitted for me by the RAC gave us 12 months of the Engine randomly cutting out because that Bougicord Coil was faulty.
