End of year evening dinner.

Great evening tonight .. good company and good food .... thanks to everyone that came and made the evening a success ... thanks again to mike for organising this catch up .. and especially for all the hard work he has put into this year with the other events ...and for the help with parts for sarahs and my a2s .. been made to feel very welcome into the club by all ..cant wait for the next mèet up ... bring on 2015 ...

Thanks to all that took time out to attend tonight's meal. Great to see you all. It was great seeing Steve with his white and now chrome A2 In the flesh after we have all been following it's transformation in the projects section. Zippy bought his air ride A2 that may be very different to probably any other A2 and it looks fab -much better than in the images. The A8 mono block alloys look great.
So another year ends. I think this last year we have seen some of the highest numbers at socials. Plus the club winning "best club stand" at AITP. So let's look forward to another year. Thank you to all that make the socials such a great time.
Cheers mike

Must add a special thanks to robin to who without his help this year we wouldnt have been able to be here in the first place .. guys a legend in more ways than one .. helped us hugely in the acquisition of our a2s and helped with working on them .. plus taking time with going not once but twice to bradford to get them .. cheers mate ...

Had a great night. An even bigger attendance than last time. Loved the air ride! I'm too old to travel that low but it looked great.
Thanks mike for organising yet another successful meet.

Glad everyone had a good time, shame I couldn't make it. Will definitely do it next year. Lego show was good though :)

For those that want to see a few of the cars from the meal---shame we couldn't all get together in the car park. FullSizeRender.jpgIMG_1669.JPGIMG_1679.JPGIMG_1683.JPGIMG_1686.JPGRender.jpg

I travelled up in the castle red FSI on arriving at Robins he kindly offered to clean it. When he had finished he popped out for some milk, on his return he said "it has a misfire or is it the inlet flap actuator being broken causing it?" i said oh probably. Sat down for a coffee then we decided to take robins lovely tdi90 and my car as i had some bits and bobs for some other members. I turned the key and yep it was misfiring-one dead coil pack. GRRRR so my car wasn't there. i carry spare coil packs so it was a 5 min job to change the dead one this morning.
But it did surprise many people when i popped out the back of an A2---those that know me will know why thats quite funny. Im a large guy and the back is most comfortable for me unless driving. Proof of the inside space is very versatile.

cheers mike

Hi,

This was my first "meal social" and it was great, such a great group of people and great food, thank you Mike and everyone who did their bit.

You can count me in to the next one it really was a thoroughly enjoyable night.

What is that blue/purple colour that looks amazing! Love the air ride one looks cool! Very jelouse!

Hi Scott,

The colour is Mauritius Blue Pearl. A stunning colour in any light.

This particular car is a TDi90 with the Votex body kit - a lovely car.

Cheers

Jeff

Is it a standard a2 colour/optional extra? I agree. It's the nicest colour Iv ever seen on an a2! It's the sort of colour you could paint your car in the old need for speed games! :)

It's a standard option Scott ( if that makes sense) what I mean is it was from the brochure palate and not a lifestyle special order.

It was more common on mid to late noughties A3 and A4. Nice colour indeed.

Cheers for the comments .. werent too sure how well it would go down with not being a standard a2 .. but am pleased how well the reaction has been .. got some big plans for it when finances allow but wont be a standard traditional a2 by any means .
