engine management light

My management light has been on for a year or so now, I was driving yeasterday and the car wasnt accelerating very well, then I noticed the engine management light was flashing. It hasnt flashed since, does this mean it now has another fault??? I cant tell as the light was already on.

I think the A2's engine management light suffers from ADD (attention deficit disorder). When it feels like its not getting the attention it wants, the bas#'rd lights up! Mines just come on, another reason to get it diagnosed, fixed or switched off and then sell the bloody thing
