The engine mangement warning light on my 4 year old 51k miles 1.4 petrol A2 came on the other week. My dealer could find no fault and reset it. It has now happened again and goes back to the dealer in a few days. I feel a very expensive new ECU is on the way. Has anyone experienced anything similar.

Hi mickey same here it came on saturday whent to dealer where i bought the car (crewe Audi)they had a look at it reset it and said it was a giltch.
Light came back on the way home so whent to macc audi they had a look with there pc link and then told me it needs new lamda sensor they reset system and said come back thursday for a new one (under warranty) hope the mixture does not do the cat in till then.
maybe yours is same faulty and dealer cant be bothered try a different dealer i did and it working a treat well i will see thursday.

Many thanks andy. When it first happened I thought I could detect pinking which I think is controlled by the lamda sensor so I guess you're probably right.

just got car back from dealer new lamda sensor fitted no bill i love it
mickey if you driveto far with lamda sensor not working you can damage the cat with unburnt petrol try a new dealer and get them to test C/o to see if it has.
