 Hi,

Hope you don't mind me using your forum but I was hoping you could help out my old man.
He's had a 1.4 petrol engined A2 from new and its coming up to THREE years old. The problem being its never away from the garage, the engine management warning light keep flashing on and each time it goes back they say they cannot find a fault.
The one time he call out the AA. the audi specialist breakdown engineer came out, stripped down the fuel intake system and cleaned out the brown deposits from it. It ran fine for the next 4 to 6 months then the light came back on.
The garage lend him a 1.4tdi when its in and he loves it, much better power.
anyway does anyone know the cure for the management light fault????????
before my dad pulls all his hair out!!

Thanks

keep pesterring the Audi dealer if its still in warranty. They should fix it under warranty. You could try another dealer. Maybe worth taking out another warranty like i did but not an Audi one. Got a VW warranty on my A2 much cheaper. If you want details send me an email I will then send you the number of the company I am with worth giving them a ring to see if they wil cover you nothing to lose

My mothers A2 1.4 petrol has been suffering from this damned recurring engine management warning light recurrently illuminating sine June 2005.

Now (December 2005) she is having a new throttle body fitted. I shall wait and see if this works. So far she's had hours worth of labour attempting to find faults, adding fuel treatment (they know she uses good fuel), resetting the fault memory etc. This is the first 'real' attempt to rectify a problem part.

Im not sure whether this will do the trick, but we will see.....
