Engine Tapping noise when accelerator pedal pressed

It's 54 plate 1.4tdi (75bhp i think) SE 90k on clock. Newbie a2 owner but not new to diesels. I want to love this car (to be fair probably already fallen for her) hence why I would like it it to be as it should. The noise in the cabin especially on the motorway is the most I have ever had and I've driven a tractor of a peogeot! By this I mean the road noise (and this I will deal with alloys and tyres seperate post) and the engine noise. The general noise of the diesel engine fine, but what I can only describe as "tapping" every time I glance my foot on the accelerator pedal and only when I do this is not ok surely (I can hear it over the stereo on loud!). I look forward to some much needed guidance as to what this is and hopefully what is the best course of action. Thanks in advance for patience with an a2 newbie.

This is one of the symptoms of a worn/broken dog bone mount on the bottom of the engine. This was suggested by someone else in one of your other posts. Quite easy to fix but you do need to raise car (safely) and remove cover on engine to get to it.

Once again, I agree with the above posts, now you have mentioned the tapping noise. This is very possible the reason for the car shaking but still check out the wheels. Dog bone or pendulum mount cheap, Polo or Fabia and quite easy to change.
