Error codes P0118 & P0135

Hi, I've got an A2 1.4 petrol that sometimes has had some troubles starting on occasion (once in hot weather, once when there was less than a quarter tank of gas left, and on some odd mornings). It's always started after a couple tires, giving it a little gas, but once recently I could only get it to start by reving the engine and setting it into first gear at the same time and slightly releasing the clutch.

The engine light will come on every now and then. And I've got my own OBD reader and checked for error codes and got the following

P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High
P0135 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 1

Which from reading the forms (at least on P0118) makes me suspect the coolant sensor needs to be swapped.

Recently also the oil levels warned being too low but seems to have been fixed after I topped up a half liter of oil.

Will be bringing it in for service, but am I correct in thinking that this might just be a faulty sensor?

Thanks for any perspective!
