ESP light and Engine Management light.

Car's been running a bit jumpy/sluggish this week,then today both the ESP and Engine Management light's came on.I rang Audi Huddersfield up and the car get's picked up on Wednesday.
Anybody know possible cause or cost?The car is just out of warranty(typical)I'm hoping it's not the ECU.I've read in other threads about possible causes but I just don't want my pant's pulling down by the stealer! lol.
 
Guess you saw the thread about coil packs going on mine and that they are no under extended warranty, 5 yrs according to another post.
 
yes sounds like a coil pack has gone,the same thing happened to my TT when it was only 2 months old.audi assist came to my house and replaced it and all was fine.

Yes my 1.6FSI has had several visits to have the flashing ECU light investigated. Coil packs replaced. I spoke to Audi's customer care line who told me that A2' s with these parts have the warranty extended - only for the coil packs - for a further 2 years beyond the original 3 years. My car is now running with 4 new packs since 3 weeks ago and is now running better than ever. Hope it lasts.
 
If it is the coil pack it should be under the extended warranty Audi gives for the coil pack. !.6FSI were introduced only in 2002 - the Motor show at the NEC launched this version. !,6's that are out of warranty that are effected still have the balance of the 2 extra years for this part. The dealer who fixed mine was not aware of this but I spoke to Audi who called them and everything was OK. I:) paid nothing, nowt, zilch.

If it is a coil pack you should pay nothing.
