Exact Tire/Wheel measuments for A2?

Ok paid @ 3am this morning, need need need wheels. What are the exact requirements of the A2 as reguards wheels (17") and associated tires? Im completley new to this world so slow and steady would be good. Got a feelings im going to end up with wrong tires for wheels or an wrong offset or "Et" what ever that is?Thanks :)
 
The 17" wheels are 7Jx17 (sorry don't know the exact ET offset - 38 springs to mind for some reason).
The standard tyres as fitted on sport models are 205 40 17.

Sport Wheels are 7Jx17 ET38 with a stud pattern of 5/100.

Other forum members (skipton I think) have recommended 225/40 R 17 tyres as offering better protection to the rims and fitting perfectly
 
ok so I want the A8 style I have seen. But they are 7.5J? is that a no go?cheers for your help guys
