If anyone else has faded/ UV bleached seat belt buckle buttons.
A quick clean with some all purpose cleaner/ degreaser, a wipe with some panel wipe and then application of C4 Trim restorer has mine buckles bright red again.
added bonus is this C4 trim restorer is also a protectorate for other unfinished plastics (ie not painted) Wheel arches, sills, scuttle panels etc

Do you think this would work on UV bleached (more yellowed really) door trims? I mean the lower plastic part with the storage pocket.

(I know there is only one sure way to find out ......)

Light heat from a heat gun as well as a light application of smooth peanut butter (i kid you not!) works a treat too - the plastic will fade again after a while, depending on how parched it is.
Personally I'd use a bit of heat followed by a trim restorer like GTechniq to ensure the new finish lasts for a long time.

The peanut butter trick is true, it really does work but it is more of a dressing (just like it can be on toast) than an actual restoration.
There a huge number of oil based plastic dressing products on the market. all great for dressing new trim and protecting it from UV (like a tinted sun lotion for black trim) to maintain an already good finish between washes.

Gtechniq is an actual restoration product with semi-permenant long term effects they say 2 years worth.
I used a similar product to the above (Car armor - 'fade to new') in 2015.. it still looks as black as the day it was applied.

Can also be used on window rubbers, sill covers, fog covers, rear spoiler etc on an A2 for that factory fresh deep matt black look.
