Finally got 7 digit postcode on the RNS-E

Mine cost a mere £8 over a Year ago and has worked perfectly ever since!

David

But is yours a mk2 RNS E?
Mk1 owners are lucky, theirs is not so sensitive to the DVD type.

Not only that but but yours does not have the latest road/route/speed camera changes. So it is time for an update perhaps to the 2016 version? (In your case an £8 one).

Yes, Steve, you're right on those points. My RNS-E is a Mk 1. It's good, however, to have the very latest mapping, especially when travelling to Europe often, as I do. My version is only a Year old and includes speed camera data. I'm not sure if I'll be able to locate another disc for that price, though/ It WAS a bargain!

Looking at the history of NavPoint, they tested the discs with 2009 and 2010 software ... Looks like they haven't been active on Twitter since 2012 and their FB page is not working ...

Any alarm bells ringing yet?

Well, that's what this club is all about .... helping each other! I HAVE emailed them, though, just to see what might result. I think that this is worth considering .... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2018-AUD...m=232976699921&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850
He's already sold all 20 of a previous listing and getting through this latest one at a rate of knots! Look at the feed-back .... it's all very positive! I would miss the 7-digit post-code search, though ..... The RNS-e is so primitive without it!

David

It's a 2015 Yr disc, so sometimes you find that you're apparently driving in a field! Disconcerting, until you're finally "back on the road"! Otherwise it is fully functional. It does surprise me, though, that someone was clever enough to have produced that superb disc back then, but nothing since 2016? Strange ....

It seems that Audi changed the storage methods on discs after 2016, which I think plugged the backdoor that the 7-digit postcode comes in through … This is supposition...
