I have had poor FM reception for a long while, and have struggled to find the cause.
I am pretty sure I've finally sorted it.
The cause was interference generated by a DC/DC Converter, fitted above the front interior light assembly, to power a dash cam.
Today, I've fitted a replacement, and it does not affect FM reception.
Ti be sure, I put a connector in the supply to the converter, and the RDS station name dissappeared with power to the converter, and returned with power removed. Pretty conclusive.
The difference between the two converters is that the one that does not interfere has CE/UKCA approval, while the one that does interfere, has not.
The approval is not on the device itself, but on the package, but I checked with the seller first.
If you have an FM reception problem, and you have a converter fitted, for phone or dash cam, try removing power from it, then check the radio.
The CPT branded part is good, but the DM branded part is not.
