Fitting after market head unit

I’ve just fitted a pioneer head unit to my A2 it just doesn’t seem to fit the dash properly
Am I missing something

It already had a aftermarket head unit fitted when I purchase the car that also fitted terribly

Maybe bring the cage forward about 5 or 6mm? So that the HU facia is level with the dash facia, where the OEM facia would have been. That'll also help disguise the gap top and bottom, caused by the new HU facia being shorter than the OEM one.

This is what you need to fit single din after market stereo.....

 
They or similar are already fitted. You can see them in the picture above.
I thought so, my thought process is the ones fitted are not compatible with the A2 or the parts that stick out to hold the unit may be snapped off or broken.
 
Hi I've just tried to fit a pioneer to my a2 and I'm not getting any power I got a harness of ebay what did you fit to your a2 ?
