At long last the fabricators have my steel, so plan to spend a day there next week cutting, welding, drilling n tapping!

Morning Bob,

Quite interested to see how this works out as have an opportunity to pick up the front seats from a TT (8N).

The breakers yard want £80 for them both which are of course heated. They are dark blue leather but sure they can be transformed into any colour with a few hours work.

Not for the OEM A2 but could be worth recolouring to Swing for it’s 250 sibling.

Kind regards,

Tom

Afternoon Erling,

Yes totally agree. They compliment each other quite nicely.

A definite possibility is I intend to purchase them should the brackets become available.

Bob as a finishing touch, has anyone been approached to see what’s possible with modifying the rear seat bracket trims. May not be possible to modify but guess they could be re-worked and 3D printed.

Kind regards,

Tom

Tom, not that I know of. If we end up with a standardised bracket kit then this would be worthwhile pursuing, to prevent shoe damage on any sharp corners!

I used to travel to Germany fairly regularly for work. I used to like the Mercedes E class taxis with black, vinyl covered seats for paying passengers; the driver might have a red leather Recaro ?

Collected these today, after being recoloured. Hope I can get them to fit with suitable brackets.

Have you managed to get brackets done for them? I’ve just bought my self a set wanted to fit them

I have some MK1 TT heated seats in Black to go in but need brackets or information / dimensions on how to make the brackets if anyone can help.

Sure does, or just make a set

Im going to wash them down tomorrow hopefully wet vac etc as they are half leather and then see what I need to produce them if I can’t get someone to sell me a set ready to fit, if I make something I’ll post on here for sure

Guys, apologies, as seat bracket manufacture hasn't gone to plan.
Soooo here are details of what I fabricated. All from 40 x 8mm steel, as I wanted drilled and tapped brackets rather than using thinner material with nuts.
Note. My seats were offset towards the doors, ie directly over the door side runners, which offsets the seat from the steering wheel. It never bothered me, but I think if offset towards the centre console, then the complex rear bracket would become just a spacer plate and the opposite rear bracket becomes an offset plate.
You will need one off each of the 4 brackets per seat. Just be careful about handing left or right with the fabrications.
Hope this makes sense, but if not, ask away!
