Fitting Universal H7 HID's

Hi All,

I know this has been covered below, but thought it might be worth adding.

The kit was an e-bay special (NON R Version), and although not the most expensive, like Ben's below was!! I figured for 8p a day while under warranty, what the heck!

If you can find H7R bulb Versions i have been advised these are better as they are specifically designed for the Reflector style headlight that A2's have.

A really good, clear guide. Thanks Iain.

Earlier TDI owners will need to mount the front-right ballast elsewhere due to the Webasto.

Cheers,

Good guide, but a couple of points to note:

First, it's a T30 torx screw that holds the headlamp, not T10

Secondly, correct seating and orientation of the bulb is paramount to get a good beam aim

Lastly, you should really use H7R bulbs, not H7. The R denotes that it's designed for use in reflector housings (i.e. as used in the A2) and will give a far more defined and accurate beam pattern. You'll dazzle other drivers less and get more light where you want it.

Hi Iain

Thanks for updating your guide. Just one thing, in the text on the second photo, could you ament the Torx bit reference to T30.

Cheers Spike
