I don't suppose anyone has a spare one of these lying around do they? my lamp in wobbling around all over the place. :(

I think the bracket is integral to the housing. One of mine is broken (long story, please ask my wife) too, But fortunately the headlamp is not moving about. I'll probably be getting some resin type glue to bond it.

I've seen good old fashioned Meccano bonded to the headlamp of a car I looked at buying. Did the job.

Audi do indeed do a repair kit for about a tenner. I have repaired one of mine. It involves removing and filing down what is left of the old one and the new one secures with a self-tapping screw (provided). The kit contains 2 replacement mounts.

Part number is: 8Z0 998 121 according to my invoice.

Thanks Iain, very good of you to dig that out that part no. for me, I might bodge it with the meccano (nice idea that man-thanks Jp) for now and look at picking up the repair kit with a few other bits.

How to fix broken headlight bracket

Right guys, finally got round to doing this today, only takes 20 mins and is very easy to do. Don't let the M.O.T man sell you a new lamp for hundreds of pounds for the penalty of a unsecured headlight, when you can fix your current ones for around £10. Thanks goes again to 'iainmd' for tipping me off about these kits.

First you will need to go to your friendly audi dealer and purchase part no 8Z0 998 121 (around £10), Maybe best to call first as they will most likely have to order it in for you.

Last Roll - 61.jpg

Lever a screwdriver or somthing similar under what is left of the bracket on the lamp, and snap it off.

Grab a file and rub down what is left of the plastic on top of the lamp until it's nice and flat.

Grab one of the new brackets and see if it slides on the lugs. If it doesn't, grab the other one in the packet ( you get one for a left lamp and one for a right). Screw in 2 of the supplied self tapping screws and your done!

that's not bad at all!

I eventually bonded my broken bracket with some off the shelf strong multi material bonding agent with hardener mixer, applied liberally around the area while the headlight is in place so the broken bracket goes exactly where it should. Seems to work so far!

Hello, does anybody know if anyone 3D prints these repair brackets?
I found that “A2Nerd” on the German A2 forum does but haven’t found anyone in the UK.
I did have a quick look on Thingiverse but couldn’t find anything.
