OK - so WHEN I get my new A2 (Hopefully in time for Christmas...will it fit in my stocking do you think?) and WHEN I encounter another A2 on the road ...... will the owner of the other example of motoring excellence wave, flash, grin like a loon, honk or otherwise let me know we are of like mind? I have some experience of this with MGB's and motorbikes, the question is - does this transfer to A2 owners as well? I would hate to cause a 'faux pas' within days of getting mobile....

The possible spec now looks like:
A2 1.6 FSI SE with climate control, DIS, Symphony with 6 CD, RED LEATHER(!) and reversing thingie

Take care

Kit

Welcome to the forum Kit. We've only had our A2 for just over a week now and haven't yet come across any other A2's while driving it. When I do, I shall we waving, flashing and probably looking like I belong in a padded cell.
I think at the moment, some people do wave and some don't. The don'ts just need re-educating
What colour are you thinking of for the paintwork?

1.4SE petrol in Merlot Red, Biege interior, 16" 5 spoke alloys, DIS, Open Sky, Elec rear windows.

Thanks for the welcome Rob. Well as for colour I have to think of something which goes well with a RED LEATHER interior! As I don't really like the darker colours, and as the special offer for metallic is still running ...... then it will probably be something light blue, metallic or similar.:)

Anyone else out there with RED LEATHER????? [}:)]

Take care Y'all

The light metallic blue looks really nice, so does silver. I reckon both would work with red leater, but probably pearl black would look best!

Hi Kit,

Welcome to the forum. I've got red leather. Looks superb. My wife and I were a bit concerned when we ordered it blind (even the dealer didn't have any pictures), however looks fantastic in the flesh, so to speak. By the way, my A2 is Black (non-metallic)

You can see on the A2OC website, www.audi-a2.co.uk 'UK Owners Gallery', page 7.

Typical typical typical,

Seeing another A2 around my way seems to be a very rare occurrence, until yesterday that is.

There I was minding my own business driving the better half's Espace on the A34, when silver A2 TDI pulled out in front of me. We followed it for about 5 miles until we hit stationary traffic in Henley High Street. The temptation was to get out and have the crack with the driver, see if he was enjoying the A2 experience, (quite an experience for some owners), but I refrained in case I was mistaken for a nutter / stalker.

Then in the oncoming crawling traffic we spied an AMULET RED A2 exactly the same as the one parked on my drive a few hundred yards away.
The three of us, 2 A2's and Espace sat adjacent to each other for a good couple of minutes - FRUSTATING</u> or what.

Till the next time, hopefully I'll be in my A2.

Harvey.

The wife had her first 'Flashing' experience yesterday when a black A2 with like-minded people on board flashed and waved in response.:D

You've got all this to come Kit;)

JD,
I think it was two owners checking which is the best Tescos store in the area, to the north we have Shirley and to the south Stratford, both excellent but Diesel is cheaper at Shirley, (spoilt for choice).

Yesterday, Tesco's was holding it's annual staff "bring your A2 to work" day.....

So - apparently it's best to flash rather than to get your horn out?
Unless you know otherwise?

Kit

Soon to be the owner of a Dolphin Grey 1.6 FSI SE with Red Leather, ECC, DIS & Symphony 6 CD! Can't wait to tell everyone about the faults!

Or at least cover it with a Tesco carrier bag...

This talk of Tesco in Shirley makes me remenice back a couple of years, when I was a student (I lived a long way from uni and shopeed no where near the house that I'd rather not think about). I shopped there for a while, probably when it was quite new - I always got confused that the till reciept always said it was Tesco Hall Green (when it was past the Shirley sign out of Brum)... I have yet to shop at a nicer supermarket, although hopefully soon the Gatwick Tesco store will be completed (revamped) to call into on my way home from work - I'll be looking out for A2's!!

We passed a black A2 on the highway yesterday, in the middle of a storm. The wife and me were waving like crazy when we passed it - not sure what the owner thought of it :p
