Flat Battery, can't open boot?

Dear All - I am the new owner of a 52 plate 1.6 FSI and it powered down whilst unlocked as I was about to start up. (PS I started a thread then found this one). The cable on the back window doesn't seem to work (even with someone outside trying to open the boot whilst I pull the handle. (It extends about a foot so I am not sure it is properly attached). The key locks the drivers door and the boot but all the other doors now unlocked. I guess I can lock these from the inside?

From dieselfan advice:
another method to open the boot is to use a emergency start battery booster or charger with cigarette lighter socket plug. Once plugged in and switched on the electrics should work enough to open the boot using the switch on the door to unlock the central locking and get in the boot.
I am unsure how to do this (need a picture!) and it is dark and raining right now, so...

- Just about to order one of these off Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Streetwize...DFMHER6G89C&psc=1&refRID=TST992FH8DFMHER6G89C but it is £20 which seems a lot. I don't know enough about 12v circuit. Does it definitely work? (as I assumed the cigarette lighter was a 12V out not in).

Hope you can help.

NB I have a ring battery charger so if i could just get to the battery...

Steve

Why not just the emergency pull cord on the inside of the boot door.

Hi Edward - I've tried this - think it is disconnected as it extends a foot (I had someone trying to open from outside at the same time)

The outside release is 100% powered by electric. Your best bet is to go under the passenger floor and jump from there

The tdi I bought in june with a head gasket fault, I had the same battery flat so in rear window over rear seats with jump leads, so what I have done is run a two core cable from battery to passenger footwell, and fitted a small Anderson connector like you will see on breakdown trucks, with switch and inline fuse as I need power for front & rear dash cams, and on another Anderson connector I have crocodile clips so I can swap over if needed to open the hatch.
