Floor mat fixings

Hi all,

When I bought my car the mats weren't secured to the floor properly, all are now fixed securely to the floor but the drivers mats, the mats are rubber ones, I guess audi ones, the problem is the black studs the sleeves fit onto aren't long enough to fix to properly, the studs are seemingly integrated onto the removable aluminium floor panel, all the studs in the rest of the carpets are longer, is it possible to get longer studs to fit the aluminium floor panel so that my rubber mat will secure properly? I have tried to remove the studs from the aluminium floor panel but they didn't want to shift.

Bit in depth but hopefully that'll be enough to explain what I mean.

Your help is always appreciated

Cheers

John

there is another stud which goes on top and belongs in the carpet itself. Do not try to remove the black studs from the floor, they are where they are supposed to be. The upper sections are missing.

You can buy the two part black plastic rings as a set.

One was missing from mine the stealer cost was about five pouinds for four.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your really speedy response on this! I have looked online but I cant see the part I need, I have taken pictures to show what I do have as maybe I have the part already? If not perhaps you might be able to direct me to where I can by the part?

Thanks

John

Has anyone got the part numbers for the front carpet fixings. I am missing the pegs on the drivers side that you attach the carpet to.

I asked Audi and they want me to bring it in to identify the exact part, which they will then order requiring a return trip to pick them up - great service - NOT!. Am booked in for an aircon regas so would like to give them the part number to order in before I get there.

Finally figured it out!

I took the passenger carpet up and found how they were fixed, its all sorted now thanks, I had the bits but couldn't see how they should fix together, seems weird there is a fixing to go between the floor and carpet when there is a fixing on the floor anyway, why didn't they design it to fix to the floor fixing? Dope!

Always great to get the wealth of experience on here :)
