I don't really like my fllor mats very much, though it's nice that they fit so well. Can anyone suggest an alternative that is more durable and easier to clean?
Are you talking about the Audi carpet ones? I have a set of rubber mats out of Halfords for the winter as I can wash them with a sponge and soapy water, and the carpet ones for the summer when the weathers better.

Yes - the audi carpet ones. Is it possible to get any tougher ones? It would be nice to get some that are a good fit - perhaps ones I can attach to the floorr using the existing fixings.
My SE came with carpet mats... you can't clean them so they went up to the loft the day I bought the car... bought the genuine Audi A2 rubber set instead. They use the same clips to be fastened to the floor and when I wash the car they get cleaned and jet washed outside too... if memory serves they were something like £45...

I have the genuine Audi rubber mats fitted. I bought the front set at £25 and the dealer gave me the rear set. They are well worth fitting, and look the part also.I suppose you can buy cheaper ones, but they might not be the right shape. The instructions on the bags says you are suppose to remove the carpets ( the extra SE type) before fitting the rubber ones, but I fitted them on top. I removed the plastic discs of the carpets, to allow better location between the "sandwich" of mats and carpets.
