When were Forged Wishbones / Lower Control Arms introduced please?

Fairly sure the A2 started life with forges wishbones (some call them 'cast') and they were superseded by the pressed steel versions in 2003

The 3 is the model year which doesn't correspond to the calendar year. Model year 2003 is May 2002 to May 2003.

F 8Z-3-019 683>> is build mid November 2002.

Project shed is in for its MOT on Friday , last year it was given an advisory" lower control arms light corrosion " so may be it time to refit the cast ones ...

Our car was built late 2003 and had pressed steel arms, we have now changed them for forged items from the earlier model.

Forged wishbones? Pretty sure Audi never used counterfeit copies.
