Front and Rear Light Mods

What is a 'Gewindefahrwerk' - no picture available, but it's got me intrigued.

The fronts are not my cuppa, but the rears are OK (they may interfere with the aerodynamics though).

Cheers,

Mike

I am pretty sure that the light covers where used in the film i-Robot as they had Audi A2's sparingly appearing in that. Not my cup of tea either, I want some LED running lights but I am worried that if I fit them they will cause issues, still there are plenty of treads on hear for me to read to make sure I get it right.

Gewindefahrwerk - I have no idea what that is, Coilcovers? Don't tell me they do a cover for the coils so it sits on the top of the engine?

Yeap , nothing a couple of bags of Silica (that you find in shoe boxes) taped to the back of the lens housing wouldnt sort out for you... I had that problem and fixed it and now they are dry as a bone. Anyway thats of subject... That film database website thing looks like it could me entertained for hours!

N.B : Looking at the first photo, it looks like they had troubles with the old misty headlight problem! :D

I had a misty headlight on my A2 a few days ago in the rain......... Simple cure is to buy some clear silicone sealant and sparingly apply into the front and rear light join.

Problem solved at a cost of £1

With all these misty A2 headlights........ there must be a design fault, has anyone questioned Audi about this?

Luckily I actually haven't had any problems with mine- I was just joking about the model in the photo - looks like they 'frosted' the lights really.

Yep - there was a 'fault' which was that the clear part of the headlight and the black plastic shell were subject to movement relative to each other on early (clipped together) versions. This let in moisture and so foggin occurred.

Since 2001, the headlamps were sealed around this join and the lamps were better able to withstand the ingress of damp.

They're not perfect still and the rear cover seals can come adrift, but Audi have done what they could.

Cheers,

Mike
