Front Bumper / Under Tray Damaged

Hi,

I have recently noticed that the underside of the front bumper has become split and 'frayed' and is scraping along the ground. (Is this the under tray referred to in other posts?)

I just had a couple of questions:

- Is it possible to replace this section only, and not the whole bumper?
- Anyone know of where to get hold of a cheap one?

I have found a picture of a full bumper for sale on ebay, where the guys hand is shows where mine has split.

I'm sure you can buy that bit if you want the car 100% 'out the factory' look. I had a similar split on the front bumper when I bought our A2, if you search the forum you will find similar threads. On advice I took a heat gun to the split section (carefully) then, when it was softened enough to manipulate the plastic put a couple of self tappers into the engine tray ensuring I wasnt fixing to anything that could be damaged! The ragged edges can be filed off. Our bumper looks great now - to tell the difference you would need to be lying underneath the car! Worth a try before spending money and removing the bumper to fit a new skirt??
